Crocodile Curry


  • 500g crocodile meat, sliced
  • 50g onions, diced
  • 20g garlic, crushed
  • 5g ginger, finely chopped
  • 200g tomatoes, chopped
  • 1 clove, crushed
  • 2 cardamom pods, crushed
  • 3cm cinnamon stick
  • 1 sprig curry leaves
  • 10g lemongrass
  • 3g chilli powder
  • 10g paprika
  • 3g fenugreek seeds
  • 3g turmeric
  • 200ml coconut milk
  • 10ml lime juice
  • 50ml oil
  • Salt, to taste


  1. Heat oil in a stew pot.
  2. Add curry leaves, lemongrass, onion, garlic and ginger and fry for about 2 minutes.
  3. Add tomatoes, chilli powder, paprika, cinnamon stick, fenugreek, turmeric and salt.
  4. Add crocodile meat and cook for about 5 minutes.
  5. Pour in coconut milk and simmer for about 20 minutes.
  6. Serve on heated plates.
  7. Sprinkle with lime juice and serve with rice.
